Every year
that we've made the trip to Dog Lake, we've talked about having a shore
lunch.. This year we finally did it! We set out in the morning
with the giant frying pan and a couple of cans of beans.. Only rule;
you had to catch your lunch!
We chose this BEAUTIFUL spot down one
of the long channels from 57 Bay. We had admired it before, but never
stopped to check it out. It's a large, bald rock surface..
There was even a formation of stones which made a perfect stove!
The water right off the rocks was crystal clear and deep..

Mark caught a nice walleye, and Brian and Dave picked
up an average Pike. That was enough to feed the crew.
It was such a beautiful day, and the water was so pure, Mark, Brian and Dave decided to brave the leaches and take a swim!
Of course, after a delicious meal and a refreshing swim, you have no alternative but to take a nice long nap! Brian and Dave obeyed the laws of nature!
Minutes after taking these photos, Rob and Bones
roared straight at us at full speed, spraying us in the wake as they turned
away.
Yet another Canadian first --- I
shit my pants! (figuratively speaking, of course!)
