Year Five!

Okay, so I'm missing a couple of year's worth of photos..  I never got them scanned in.  As soon as I get some free time...  Yeah, that'll happen...

Brian Goodenow, Jeff Raven, Rob Loney, and Dave Dickinson, fishing buddies for life.

The weather was not great for the Bone man...  It was a little too warm.  Warm enough, in fact, that he wasn't able to cook us out of the place with a roaring fire every day!
Ernie's cabin is perfect!  It used to feature a nice sauna outside, but Ernie and the Mrs. burned it down..  I guess they over-heated things just a bit!

In 1999, I didn't catch a pike until the last day of the trip, and only TWO fish overall!  Unheard of!!  So this year, when I caught a fish the first day, we made sure to mark the occasion, even if it was only a hammer handle.

This was the year of the WALLEYE!  We've never fished too hard for walleye before, because we felt it was TOO HARD!  But, armed with some books, magazines, and a lot of luck, we set out in pursuit.  Believe it or not, in one spectacular fishing day, we boated about 100 walleye between the three boats.  We may never hit them like that again, but it was awesome!  We caught most of them jigging, and / or floating crawler harnesses.

BREAKIN' THE LAW, BREAKIN' THE LAW!!

Dave and Bones had the years biggest adventure..  In day two of great Walleye fishing, Dave and Bones had a visit from the O.P.P. and the Ministry.  For those of you not familiar with our Canadian Brethren, that would be the cops and the DNR.
Unbelievably, the guys had only opened 1 of the 18 beers they had on board...  The big problem was the 27 beer cans in the boat from the day before, when Dave and Brian had poured down BLUES like pure Canadian water!  The O.P.P. cited the boys for the beers, made them dump out all 18, and pointed out several other problems with the boat...  (No horn, no rope, no fire ext., etc...)  The Ministry cited the boys for each having two lines in the water - which is legal in Michigan, but not in the Great White North!  $200 and some odd dollars later (and lighter!) the O.P.P. were on their way, and a great trip resumed.
